CALL FOR CHOREOGRAPHERS

The Dance Gallery, a festival produced by VON USSAR danceworks for the second year, is looking for Concert Dance Choreographers to be presented this Fall.

Application Fee: $25 per work

VON USSAR danceworks, a modern dance company based in NYC, is providing an exciting opportunity for choreographers to present larger works and be a part of an evocative new festival of concert dance in NYC.

THE PLACE: THE AILEY THEATER
THE DATE: September 12th and 13th , 2008

After last year’s success and sold out performances we proved that an event like that was much needed. With more applicants than we could possibly present we were proud to give the opportunity to 11 established and up and coming artists. Choreographers presented the first year were: Jana Hicks, Sidra Bell, Earl Mosley, Diane McCarthy, Christian von Howard, Patrick Corbin, Isabel Gotzkowsky, Iquail Johnson, Mojca Ussar, Gerry Houlihan and Astrid von Ussar.

Entries must include a video (DVD or VHS) of the proposed work ( max 8-10 minutes ). You can submit more than one work. No work in progress or promotional videos please! The entries should also include one photo to be used for publicity if you are selected, the nonrefundable application fee of $25 for each work submitted, a current resume or bio (including email address and contact information), a description of the proposed work, and SASE (self addressed and stamped envelope) if you want your materials returned.
The proposed work should not be performed in and around NYC three months prior or past the festival.

If your work is chosen you will be notified by June 20th, 2008, and a signed contract with a $200 production Fee will be due on July 7th, 2008.

As a part of the festival you will be provided with 2 performances in a state of the art theater, minimum professional lighting, publicity, professional photographer, DVD of your work
